I was cleaning my kitchen yesterday and to my amazement I found at least 10 cookbooks. Cooking has never been my forte. I have an interest but never really mastered the art of good cooking, even though it was a task I did everyday.
Just recently I have taken an interest in cooking with spices and herbs to enhance the taste of food. Staying home and actually having to cook for myself during the pandemic has sparked this new interest. In fact, my children make fun of my cooking, but boldly state that I can make a great sandwich. They were not over weight children, and were feed nourishing and healthy meals.
I now realize cooking can be joyful and fun. You can modify ingredients to ensure your food is healthy and tantalizing. I admit I am not a great cook but I can appreciate one. Cooking and entertaining promotes family bonding and friendships, especially in the south where everything revolves around good food. I know we all miss picnics, Sunday dinners and bar-b-ques, as well as other family gatherings.
Appreciate the good cooks in your family and master a special recipe so when you meet again you have something to share.
