June is Black Music Month

Regardless of what type of music you listen to, music is great way to relax and unwind. I love listening to rhythm and blues (R&B) and jazz it makes my heart sing and takes me back to a time when I had no worries or cares.

According to the American Music therapy Association (2005) music can be utilized to promote wellness, decrease stress, pain, enhance memory, helps you express feelings, and help you improve communication.

“Music Therapy is the clinical & evidence-based use of music interventions to accomplish individualized goals within a therapeutic relationship by a credentialed professional who has completed an approved music therapy program. Music therapy interventions can address a variety of healthcare & educational goals” (2024).

Enjoy the music and “dance like no one is watching” (Mark Twain).
