COVID-19 IS ON THE RISE..

COVID-19 is on the rise again with another new variant, lambda.   I am not surprised.   If a virus is not contained it will mutate and get stronger.   It has been reported that many of the new cases of COVID-19 admissions into the hospital are those who have not been vaccinated, and have the delta variant. 

Individuals who have been vaccinated and test positive for COVID-19 are experiencing few to no symptoms.  The disease is far worse than the side effects of the vaccine, and if they can not understand that, I have nothing else to say. 

The individuals who are pushing people not to get vaccinated have been required to be vaccinated by the companies they work for, so who knows why they are encouraging the public to be so contrary.   It is quite selfish to walk around without a mask exposing others.  It is your right to live your life as you please, but know, its my right to ensure I remain healthy and well.

I do not believe in begging informed adults to take care of their health when they have been exposed to all the pertinent information and are aware of the outcome. Just remember you were warned,  begged and bribed but you choose your fate.      

I will however pray for you that you have a positive outcome and live through the exposure of this deadly disease, and will not have to experience its wrath.  

Please know that the healthcare community is tired and if you feel that strongly about the issue, stay home and take care of yourself, we can use the break.  The nurses I have talked to, are bracing for a busy fall and winter because of stubborn citizens who refuse to heed to the warning. 

This is the 3rd week in July and we are seeing a spike in hospitalizations again!   A fellow nurse inspected a COVID-19 unit today and told me the patients were younger,  sicker and described them as gray in color and bloated.   She went on to say it was so sad, and she did not want to get COVID-19 and felt badly for anyone who did.

People disregard the threats of disease,  and other issues like climate change and war on the human condition.  We are all connected no matter what you look like, or where you live.  Life is fragile and apparently many have forgotten or do not care. These conditions can affect everyone’s life as we know it.  The things you argue about and care about will become a mute point.

So, at this moment we have a world pandemic to control.  Please do your part, continue to wash your hands, wear your mask and get vaccinated.  Your life may depend on it.
