Infection 101

I was on a five hour flight this week, and the steward announced “the water was not working in the bathroom, but they had water-less soap and wipes to clean your hands.  Really, in a pandemic!  I would like to think safety and infection control would be a high priority in the airline business.   Some of the public have already shown they are not willing to wear a mask and/or utilize correct handwashing techniques. In fact, I saw a women walk out the bathroom at the airport without washing her hands.

This is my cue to stay home until this pandemic is over.   When I booked this trip I was sure we would see a decrease in the infection rate, related to COVID 19.   Currently in the month of August, 2021, the United States, specifically Texas and Florida are seeing an increase in hospitalizations, especially with individuals who have not been vaccinated, including children.

Government officials in these states are also passing laws to prevent school districts from issuing mask mandates. Sometimes you have to protect people from themselves, because they do not have all the facts, and or refuse to understand. It will be the survival of the fittest and it definitely does not have to end this way.

Please stay well, wash your hands and wear a mask, you have nothing to lose but a life!
