Critical Thinking

I am a registered nurse and critical thinking is an essential tool I utilize daily. I also have a PhD, and with this degree, it is an expectation that you will be a critical thinker.

Critical thinking is an essential tool one needs to analyze, evaluate, and interpret information to make informed decisions. Let me clarify you do not need a PhD. to be a critical thinker. It has come to my attention that many do not have the ability to analyze information and facts. Its obvious that this skill is not taught in school or at home.

Professor Dr. Daniel Black (http://danielblack.org) seemed to concur and spoke about it on the Karen Hunter Radio show (4/17/2023) and conclude that the American educational system is not trying to teach students to be critical thinkers and analyze information. Think about that, if the county had a nation full of people who were critical thinkers and thought producers, it would be impossible to maintain the status quo (Daniel Black, 2023).

The lack of critical thinking skills in the general population is alarming. These skills are essential to make informed decisions in all aspects of your life including your health and wellness and external events. Majority of the population do no read or understand civics and have no idea who their state senators and representatives are and vote against their own interest. Civics is not taught in school and every body passes or gets a participation ribbon.

The decline of education and critical thinking is impeding knowledge, resulting in an ignorant population. Prevention is so much better than restoration. Please take heed! It’s getting serious out here.
